What is the attendance policy?

Weekly attendance is necessary to provide the reinforcement and continuity of instruction needed to teach an individual the coordinated skills of a dancer. We hope students will be in class every week but when an absence is unavoidable, please remember to inform the office via email or phone call so we may alert the teachers. It is very helpful, especially during the age of Covid, to know why a student is absent.

Can a student make up a missed class?

When space allows, a student can come to another session of their level, if offered. Please confirm availability before coming to a make up class.

Can parents observe their child's class?

Parents are invited to special observation classes two times during the dance season. The first one is in mid-November and the second coincides with costume distribution week, which is usually 3-4 weeks prior to the recital. Observation day for the spring program is the last class of the session.

What holidays do you observe?

The Dance Inn generally follows the Lexington Public School calendar and snow day policy, however we do not close for Monday holidays as there are just too many. Our Calendar page has all planned closings, if it is not listed assume we are open. Call the office if you are still unsure.

Can my child try a class?

Yes, any child can try a class before making a commitment. The child must attend the FIRST class of the session, and make a final decision by the 3rd lesson.  The Dance Inn charges $20.00 to try a class, which is used towards tuition if you decide to register for the full session.

Does The Dance Inn produce an annual recital?

An annual production is held in late March or early April. Students will be notified in September of the exact date. Costumes are ordered in November/December.  You must notify the studio IN WRITING by November 1st if your child chooses not to participate. Tickets for reserved seats are ordered online in February.
