Flood at Munroe Center does damage to The Dance Inn

Thelma recently sent this letter to our studio families explaining the unfortunate incident from Saturday, July 14th:

Dear Families,

As some of you may have heard, The Dance Inn studio recently suffered significant damage due to flooding from a sprinkler in the ceramics studio above our large studio (Studio A) on Saturday, July 14th.  As upsetting as this is, we realize that things could be worse and we are grateful that this happened in the summer when our programming is limited to morning camps and our two evening programs.  I am very grateful to my staff, the Munroe Center for the Arts and to the Town of Lexington for working together to help us continue our summer programming and to help us rebuild as quickly as possible.  Walls are being removed and the floor in Studio A has just been torn up and removed.  We have every hope that the renovations will be completed by our Open House on September 8 and that The Dance Inn will be more beautiful than ever!  In the meantime, we have moved our office and studio to the former Children's Arts Corner on the first floor.  (The Children's Arts Corner left the Munroe Center in June.)

We are currently moving phone and internet lines into our new office space and hope to be functioning normally by this Monday.  The best way to communicate with us is by email or phone, which will have our updated office schedule.  If you would like to follow the progress of the renovations, we will be posting updates on Facebook.  'Like' us on Facebook (www.facebook.com/thedanceinn) to see photos and other information about the changes.

If you do have an opportunity to visit us in our new space, you will be greeted by Valerie Amaral, our new office administrator.  She joined our staff in June after Carolyn left to take a full-time position.  Valerie comes to us with a great deal of experience and we are thrilled to welcome her to our team.

Thank you for your continued support!  We look forward to welcoming you back to classes in our brand new studio!

Sincerely,

Thelma Goldberg, Director
